The active ingredient biperiden is a substance from the class of anticholinergic (reducing the excitation of the nervous system and smooth muscle tissue) medicines, which mainly act on the central nervous system.

Especially when a rapid onset of action is desired or as initial treatment in cases of severe Parkinson's syndrome (the emergence of symptoms similar to Parkinson's disease due to various causes), especially muscle stiffness and tremor, in the treatment of extrapyramidal (movement disorder) symptoms caused by neuroleptics (medicines effective in the treatment of psychiatric diseases such as schizophrenia, psychotic depression) and medicines with similar effects (e.g. movement disorder caused by acute involuntary muscle contractions, restlessness and Parkinson's syndrome), in the treatment of nicotine poisoning, poisoning with organophosphate-containing compounds (compounds found in pesticides and war gases).

Treatment with Biperiden is normally started with small doses, which are increased depending on the therapeutic effect and undesirable effects. The duration of treatment depends on the type and course of the disease.
