CAFERGOT contains 1 mg ergotamine tatrate and 100 mg caffeine as active substance. Ergotamine is an antimigraine drug, belonging to a group of medicines called “ergot alkaloids”. Caffeine increases the absorption of ergotamine in the body.
CAFERGOT® tablets are used to treat migraine attacks that have not responded to other treatments (anti-inflammatory drugs, triptans). It should be used as soon as first signs of attack occur to ease the symptoms and stop migraine.
When a sign of migraine attack emerged, take 1 to 2 tablets CAFERGOT®. A second dose may be taken, if symptoms reappear, as long as there is an interval of at least 2 to 3 hours between the two doses. CAFERGOT is for oral use only. Swallow the tablets with some water.
