Indications

Aethoxysklerol is used to treat varicose veins of the lower extremities and may be injected either as liquid or as a microfoam. Aethoxysklerol works by causing the lining of the blood vessel to break up and also stops the flow of blood through that vein. The affected leg is then squeezed by application of compression which helps to complete closure of the varicose vein. Aethoxysklerol is only for use in adults (including the elderly).

Posology and Administration

Aethoxysklerol is given by injection into the varicose vein. It should always be injected by a doctor, who will select the appropriate dose and method of administration.
