Cafergot® 1 mg / 100 mg Tablets
Cafergot contains 1 mg ergotamine tartrate and 100 mg caffeine as active ingredient. Ergotamine is an antimigraine medicine that belongs to a group of medicines called “ergot alkaloids”. Caffeine increases the absorption of ergotamine in the body.
Cafergot tablets are used to treat migraine attacks that do not respond to other treatments (anti-inflammatory medicines, triptan group migraine medicines). To relieve symptoms and stop migraine, it should be used as soon as the first signs of a migraine attack appear.
When the first symptom of a migraine attack occurs, take 1-2 tablets of Cafergot. If symptoms recur, a second dose can be taken, leaving at least a 2-3 hours gap between the two doses. Cafergot is only used orally. Swallow the tablets with some water.
