Hiper-Amonemix® is given to patients with urea cycle disorders. Patients with this rare disorder are deficient in some liver enzymes and therefore cannot eliminate nitrogen waste.
Hiper-Amonemix® helps eliminate nitrogen waste from the body by reducing the amount of ammonia in your body.

Hiper-Amonemix® is used as an adjunctive therapy in the chronic treatment of urea cycle disorders including carbamylphosphate synthetase, ornithine transcarbamylase or argininosuccinate synthetase deficiencies. It is indicated in all patients with neonatal onset (complete enzyme deficiencies occurring within the first 28 days of life). It is also indicated in late onset patients with a history of hyperammonemic encephalopathy (partial enzyme deficiencies occurring after the first month of life).

For newborns, infants and children weighing less than 20 kg, 450-600 mg/kg/day
For children weighing more than 20 kg, adolescents and adults, it is determined as 9.9-13.0 g/m2/day.
When taken orally, mix the measured dose with solid or liquid food as recommended by your doctor.
Shake gently before preparing.
For patients with gastrostomy or nasogastric tube, dissolve the granules by mixing with water (until no dry granules remain). When the granules dissolve in water, you will obtain a white liquid. The dissolved liquid should be used immediately.
