Kytril® contains the active ingredient granisetron, which belongs to the group of medicines called "5-HT3 receptor antagonists" or "anti-emetics" (preventing nausea and vomiting).

Kytril® is used to prevent nausea and vomiting (feeling unwell and sick) caused by cancer treatments with medicines or radiation.

Prevention of nausea or vomiting
The first dose of Kytril® is usually given one hour before your radiotherapy or chemotherapy. The dosage is as follows (up to one week after your radiotherapy or chemotherapy):
• 1 mg one tablet twice daily or
• 1 mg two tablets once daily or
• 2 mg one tablet once daily
• Treatment of nausea or vomiting
The usual dosage is as follows:
• 1 mg one tablet twice daily or
• 1 mg two tablets once daily or
• 2 mg one tablet once daily.
To be taken orally.
• Take the tablets without chewing them with a sufficient amount of liquid (for example, with a glass of water).
