PK-Merz® 200 mg/500 ml
i.v. Solution for InfusionPK-Merz® is a medicine administered by intravenous infusion.
• As emergency and intensive care treatment in severe and life-threatening cases of Parkinson's disease and during acute exacerbation of symptoms
• In case of temporary discontinuation of oral tablet treatment
• To increase alertness and sensory perception (as an additional treatment agent in patients with coma of various origins; in case of delayed awakening after traumatic brain injury/surgery, anesthesia and similar situations)
Posology and Administration
Parkinson's disease: If PK-Merz® monotherapy is started for the first time, treatment should be started with 2 tablets per day. Full efficacy is seen within 48 hours. In patients who have another medical disease or who are taking high doses of other antiparkinsonian medicines, treatment should be started with 1 tablet per day (100 mg/day). After one or several weeks of treatment, the dose can be increased to the standard level of 1 tablet twice daily (200 mg/day). In patients who do not respond to the daily dose of 2 tablets (200 mg), the dose can be increased to 4 tablets (400 mg) taken in divided doses throughout the day. The dose should not exceed 6 tablets (600 mg) per day.
